A Zebra is a two-layer shade with alternating screen bands and solid bands.
The screen band transmits light and provides an outside view. The solid band always blocks that view, although it may transmit diffused light.

The Dim-Out solid band blocks the view and strongly reduces light transmission. In Day, the view still appears only through the screen bands.
In Night, the solids cover the screens and darken the room much more; strong backlight may produce a minimal glow. Exact performance depends on collection and color.

You choose. On a manual chain Zebra, ▲ and ▼ control height; Day aligns the screen bands and Night places the solid bands over the screen bands for increased privacy.
A manual cordless Zebra has no chain: you take the bottom bar with your hand.
A motorized Zebra uses a remote. On every system, Day and Night change the stripes, not the height.
